Tapantí National Park

Tapantí National Park is a natural reserve that is located in the La Amistad - Pacific Conservation Area, together with the Cerro de la Muerte, northeast of the Talamanca Mountain Range, in south-central Costa Rica. This Park covers an area of ​​about 58,323 hectares, making it one of the largest in the country. You can see different types of forest from the montane to the premontane rainforest, home to 45 species of mammals, 300 species of birds, 32 species of amphibians approximately.

Countless springs and streams covered by the canopy and favored by the topography give life to this area, The Gato and Marta rivers are the main attractions for the enjoyment of those who visit, the springs come from the mountains of the Talamanca mountain range, with a great socio-environmental value of these forests, as producers of an abundant flow of drinking water continues throughout the year.

Wildlife Refuge La Marta

La Marta is part of Kabar-Jérikä-Takí (name in Cabécar for the great Talamanca mountain range), the only territory on the entire American continent whose nature and ancestral peoples frustrated all attempts at Spanish conquest.
